John says:
What is the different between Buddhism and Hinduism?

bindu says:
Suubu do you want to answer............... i am interested in your comments too.

SUBBUJI says:
Sure, Buddhism came from Hinduism, Hinduism is Sanatana Dharma, the oldest Dharma

John says:
Yes of course, Buddha came from a Hindu family, but I thought the Dharma belonged to Buddha

SUBBUJI says:
John after some time one has to grow up above religion and experience the truth

John says:
Yes of course, but I am not there yet, I like my religion

SUBBUJI says:
Bindu here is more experienced than me

SUBBUJI says:
" Ye shall know the truth , The truth shall let u free "

John says:
The words of Jesus.

bindu says:
It's ok to be involved in any religion one chooses also.

SUBBUJI says:
Yes of course.

bindu says:
Different paths for people at different stages of spiritual growth, the final path is a pathless path where all merge.

John says:
I have left being a born again Christian behind - so I am growing :).

SUBBUJI says:
ok

bindu says:
As i have said, we spend the first part of our lives establishing our level from our last life then we move onward in the life we currently live.. previous to the reestablishment we will not move ahead; we will often go by the fastest route back to our level - so we get moving faster, hence people develop at different rates and we have all manner and type of temperament.

John says:
Previous to the reestablishment we will not move ahead, please explain.

bindu says:

bindu says:
i meant, as we are reestablishing what level we had in our past life we will not go beyond it
we will move ahead with our evolution towards realization only after we reach it, this is why our paths often change many times in our early lives.

John says:
If we have been around since beginningless time or for ever just how dumb are we that we have not caught on yet?

bindu says:
Yes, that takes actual realization.

John says:
Can't we see things clearer when we die when we are free of this body?

bindu says:
Yes, but if we avoided, rejected or did not accept or renounce a single mental position in our last life we will come and face up to it again before moving on, so it is good not to avoid things as in the path to realization we must come to accept all things as valid parts of The Self. Whether real or unreal as they have manifested in The Self.

The reason for this is that any rejection of any part of the self constitutes rejection of him

so we learn and grow according to our acceptance ... which is what true renunciation is.

John says:
What do you mean Self?

bindu says:
The Self in all of us is the ONE and the SAME Self he is the one who watches all our thoughts... etc.

John says:
Buddha nature

bindu says:
Yes, but the misconception is this: We say "OUR" Buddha nature as if it is a possession.

Who is the one who owns that? It is The Self... NOT THE EGO.

John says:
Me, my Buddha nature - your Buddha nature etc.

bindu says:
Yes, but who are you? Ah! now that Buddha nature belongs not to us but to the self
hence there is only one self

John says:
Yes, but I have never been able to understand that.

bindu says:
Ask me anything you want and you will get the right answer... in the past i have told you a million things.. but here while i type it comes as the questions are asked so ask as you wish....

John says:
How can we be joined - conjoint - The Same Self? - All of us? - As one?

bindu says:
Since the Mind cannot be found in anyone unless there are thoughts in their head... the thoughts must be the MIND Itself.

John says:
Yes understand that.

bindu says:
This means that there is no Individual mind... because the thoughts that come are the result of perceptions which come thru the senses. So then mind and thought are a product of the organic distortions

bindu says:

John says:But they are my thoughts. My perceptions.

bindu says:
Yes, but John ... who inside you refers to you ? - Who says "ME" "MY" "MINE"?

Who says that is I?

John says:
I do, but I don't understand what you mean by organic distortions.

bindu says:
Don't worry about understanding organic distortions for now...

But when you said "I" do above, you referred to someone you think of as YOU (Your "I" so-to-speak)... who is He?

John says:
I referred to the whole of me - everything I think I am.

bindu says:
That is just the point "YOU" THINK "YOU" are such and such - but without thought who are you? Thinking as we said before is a product of perceptions.

John says:
Nothing. Unconscious self.

bindu says:
ah! no, not nothing; That nothing is The Conscious SELF

bindu says:
He is the one who is conscious in us all and refers to all the Beings as himself .. every time he says "I" He is not unconscious at all; If he was unconscious as you say,  who would refer to you as described above?

John says:
How come i don't know him?

bindu says:
because when "YOU" say "I" you refer to the one "He" is pointing at as if it could be the one who is conscious ...

John says:
I only know what I can think of.

bindu says:
Who is it that thinks? Who sees the thoughts

John says:
me.

SUBBUJI says:
Watching with interest.

John says:
My mind. I don't know.

bindu says:
No, the one watching is not the mind because what is seen in the MIND IS THE MIND
we should  try to find the mind in the absence of thought. We will find it cannot be found at all.

Thought "IS MIND" Mind arises with it.

John says:
If I am not thinking then I am nothing.

bindu says:
That is exactly the point ... "The one who "THINKS" he is something is really nothing"... he has no self-nature (to use a Buddhist concept) the Watching Self ( the witness) he is the same witness in us all.
HE is The Self.

John says:
If I cannot use my mind then how can I find him? What else can I use?

bindu says:
See in the last thing you said you said "I" He (The "I") cannot do anything to see The Real Self.

John says:
yes

bindu says:
Because The Real Self is THAT Seer.

John says:
What is the point of The Real Self if he can't think

bindu says:
The false self (the "I" or "ME" ) cannot see and is not conscious as he is nothing as you said above. No no, it is the false Self "WHO CANNOT THINK", only the real one can. The false self is like a piece of paper in which thoughts appear - the paper has no self-nature what-so-ever.

John says:
I am thinking now and that is real, I prefer being me.

bindu says:
Who is that "ME" that is being referred to? He is nothing what-so-ever, "The Real YOU" is the one doing the referring, He is the same one in us all. He is the one who, in all beings, refers to the i-concept and says "I", but because he is the on doing the referring in all cases he cannot be the one referred to, no matter how great or glorious that "Conceptual I"  might be.

John says:
The "ME" is the guy that is sitting here typing all of this, I am something.

bindu says:
That is a body which is nothing more than clothing over the idea that you exist, when this clothing is removed, you will find it is like an empty suit with no self-nature at all.

John says:
I can think, so I am real

bindu says:
We just established above that you cannot think, as it is The Self who thinks.

John says:
I can think okay I have trouble with spelling though.

bindu says:
A being (YOU) cannot remain in existence as any sort of seemingly separate anything -
Unless perception occurs - because if it did not, there would be nothing to which comparison could be made. i.e. "I" am experiencing such and such - or i am like such and such - or this is like so and so etc.

John says:
That is scary you are saying I will disappear into nothing and know nothing, can't think, can't do anything!

bindu says:
By comparison, implication arises -
and the mind is born!
Seeming to exist in the implied-self -
who is, as previously shown -
Nothing more than nothing compared to emptiness!
The I is the implied self.

bindu says:
That is right you will realize you are the self i refer to above not the limited Jiva\ego\mind\soul etc.

John says:
Who is going to choose that for a life? No wonder we keep coming back!

bindu says:
For life? It is beyond time. This is the Immortal Being .
John says:
Yes, but it seems like he walks around not knowing, not thinking.

bindu says:
Yes, just being, walking around in his own self - seeing nothing but His own Self.

John says:
What is the point of his being? I would rather be as I am.

bindu says:
He is the Universe there is no question of His not being, but you have no self nature and will eternally seek him, and be reborn until you find him.

John says:
And be turn into a moron with out any ideas or thoughts?

bindu says:
Chuckle, am i a moron?

John says:
Of course not

bindu says:
Well i rest my case.

John says:
I can not give up thinking

bindu says:
Of course not.

John says:
You would have to be brain dead
bindu says:
But as i said above who thinks?

John says:
Here we go again, I think therefore i am.

bindu says:
Chuckle, in Avadhuta Gita it says My mind is extinct!

John says:
When I am not thinking life stops for me as when I am asleep.

bindu says:
Nope, for example: Thinking i am the thinker limits my mind to a level, sleep is just a state of the ego resting in his own ignorance of who The Self really is.

John says:
And enjoying every minute of it

bindu says:
Chuckle, in the books it says to become conscious in all three states - waking, dream and deep sleep; the only way to get that and realize who The Self is - is by getting into the state called Turiya. Then it is like being awake and never going back to sleep; Then you know that each of the three states are merely dreams. You (The Real Self) are conscious beyond an uncountable number of Universes. which extends forever.

For Example:

when we go to sleep we go from one dream (this State -- Samsara) into the dream we have during sleep.. then we fall into deep sleep and think we are sleeping soundly but it is a dream of having deep sleep - then we wake up here in this world and do not realize we have simply entered another dream.

John says:
Turiya what state is that?

bindu says:
Turiya is the state where you are always awake to the dream-nature of existence

John says:
We are dreaming we are dreaming.

bindu says:
Yes, but The Turiya is waking up or enlightenment or realization or whatever name you want to give it - it is to realize You are The Real Self - Not the one who seems to be having a Dream of being in a dream. - or more properly to recognize who you are.

John says:
We do have control in this awaken state, I have no control when I an sleeping.

bindu says:
No we don't, we are dreaming that we do.

bindu says:
Well you may not have any control while you are sleeping but i can fly in dreams and do all sorts of things and change the dream at Will or wake up or be deeply asleep and still conscious of the room i am sleeping in ...

i can go to any realm while walking down the street .. i can be in any dream i want at any time - night or day.. i am not bound by anything at all in any state.

John says:
I can't do that.

bindu says:
i can send my consciousness deep into what is called by the Tibetans (The Bardo ) and beyond it - I am free - my consciousness is truly without limit. I  am nothing like nothing compared to emptiness.

John says:
I can send my mind to where ever I want to go, but I am not there just because i am thinking about it .

bindu says:
It is not like that. In my case i am beyond the realm i am in while being in the realm i am in.. for example: In dream i am aware of the room my body is sleeping in - and of the dream also
i can change the scene of the dream like a stage manager, any time.

When my body wakes up, i seem to be bound to it... but that is the bodies nature .. the consciousness cannot be bound; it is completely open ended and infinite in all directions, thus all of everything appears inside it. That is why just as the dream you think you are dreaming while in your own bed appears in your head so does the entire cosmos appear in The Self... It is in his awareness like a drop in the ocean of Infinity.

John says:
I am only aware of bits and pieces of the dream that is all.

bindu says:
so then this is why it is good to realize who The Self is; in this case the emotions. the mind, the body, even ones life does not frighten you anymore. You can choose to do what you want as regards rebirth or samadhi
John says:
If i have to come back, I want to come back as a rich man.

bindu says:
Chuckle
John says:
I need to go now see you soon.

bindu says:
yes ok, bye now
