Bluff Point
(Leading Lights)
Admiralty Reference # 1742
1876 - present
Leading lights based south of the entry to Chapman River to guide
ships around the northern reef into Champion Bay
The front leading light was
gutted by fire in 1952 while the cottage tower light was
removed from the cottage tower in 1970. The Geraldton Historical Society
acquired the Keeper's cottage and Upper Tower in 1971 and now uses the site as
their meeting place and to store their archives.
The current leading lights are on a similar bearing
