The tower is built of reinforced concrete and
carried the original light from Breaksea Island. In 1917, an AGA lantern
was fixed and the lighthouse was no longer manned. The lens is on loan to the
WA Maritime Museum, though not currently on display.

The Lighthouse is erected near to the
place where Dirk Hartog landed in 1616.
