War Horse Miniatures is the latest website that Mike has published showing off his painting skills and information about toy soldiers. He is also offering some of his figures for sale, so check it out.
ZINNFIGUREN FLATS - A wonderful set of pages dedicated to flat toy soldiers, the predecessor to the modern 54 mm toy soldiers that I exhibit on my pages. Alexander has an excellent set of uniform pages dedicated to Napoleonic era, scanned form original plates and many images of the flats directly scanned.
Norbert has a gallery
of toy soldiers of the 1930s featuring German Troops. There is Hausser/Elastolin
and Lineol composition figures. Pictures, identification guides, manufacturers'
catalogues, background information. A valuable source for that era.
British Model Soldier Society This site has lots of information on Toy Soldiers from around the world and Britain. The largest and longest established association of model soldier enthusiasts. On the pages can be found information on the many and varied BMSS activities and events of interest to military modelers and toy soldier collectors.
Atlantic Toy Soldiers Website Carlo Mastrantonio has set up his pages dedicated to is Italian toy soldier company. he has lots of images of soldiers and box tops. A must if you are an ATLANTIC collector.
Toy Soldiers For many years Brian Carrick has been one of the editors of Plastic Warrior magazine but recently he has taken a back seat so that he could start to set up his own website. There are many pages of figures to look at, and admire, just like me, he is showing his collection to the world, its worth a look !
Figures Journal is the latest website by Norert Schrepf, it is an on-line magazine for toy soldier collectors. It is in German and English language with a lot of service for visitors. There is a sales list contains more than 1400 antique toy soldiers from all over the world and he invites collectors to trade their figures on our website for free.
Vive l'Empereur is Alain Lastienne's site that shows his collection of French soldiers from the Napoleonic Wars. The figures have been cast and painted by him and some are from Prince August Moulds, both 25mm and 54mm, so check out his work.
Thierry Goncalves is a collector from Belgium and has established a Web Blog page where he exhibits many of his wonderful collection of toy soldiers which depict Belgian soldiers trough the ages, as well a wide range of colonial troops. This is well worth a visit, and maybe leave a message.

Turkish Soldier is the Blog website of collector Cem Ozdogan, who lives in Istanbul and the site features information of Turkish Soldiers on the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915, as well as images of his collection. this is a must for collectors of that era, when Britain and its allies tried to conquer the Ottoman Empire by landing on the beaches and began the ANZAC tradition.
Scheck’s Zinnsoldatenkriege is a Blog site dedicated to 40mm figures of Prince August, Nürnberger Meisterzinn, Manske Zinnfiguren and Sash & Saber figures, gaming at the Seven Years War (1756-1763
Simply Soldiers is another BLOG site set up by David Fell, a UK collector, and contains lots of news of toy soldier with latest releases from the major makers and other articles.

STAD'S Toy Soldiers Sell a wide range of plastics and it is a valuable source of what is available on the market today. There is an almost complete catalogue of new plastics with descriptions of the figures.

Toy Soldier HQ Kent Sprecher has a mail order company selling loads of plastic toy soldiers. He is right up to date with all the latest releases and has a links page to other sites.
Michigan Toy Soldier Co. Here is one of the most comprehensive sites for toy soldiers. They specialize in old Toy Soldiers of all types and also carry an extensive inventory of new plastic, resin and metal Toy Soldiers. If you are into casting your own, there is a page of supplies that you can uses to make your own moulds. Well worth a visit.
Stanbridges THE BEST Perth hobby store that I shopped at for about 40 years! They have a huge range of model trains, plains and cars, but I now use them for paint and plastic soldier supplies.
Green's Collectibles Al Green has a new website for a shop in New Jersey, he has loads of soldiers listed from companies including East of India Company, PFN, Marlborough, Britains, Conte, Charles Biggs.
Minutemen Toy Soldiers carries an exhaustive list of products, from 1/72 and 1/35 toy soldiers and playsets, to large scale busts and aeroplane models. It is a very comprehensive store with something to interest all who are interested in soldiers, wargaming, books and kits.
Spillway Toys deal exclusively with the sale, customisation and conversion of 54 mm toy soldiers manufactured by the LeMan's Collection. This collection includes numerous poses and accessories (forts, bridges, tents, walls, etc.) for use in dioramas depicting American historical periods such as the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, the French and Indian War (Trappers, Iroquois, etc.), Plains Indians Wars (Buffalo Soldiers, Indians, 7th Cavalry, etc.) and the Texas War for Independence (Alamo combatants).

MKL Modelsis the largest stockist of W. Britains toy soldiers in the UK, and MKL have been supplying quality toy soldiers and models to their customers all over the world for more than a quarter of a century. Lyn Kenwood runs the Guards Toy Soldier Shop in London, and it must be one of the best shops around. Its located in Wellington Barracks next to the Guards Museum, so its close to all the pageantry that is London.
The Armoury of St James is just of Piccadilly, and has a great range of figures ranging from Frontline, Britains, Charles Biggs, and some wonderful Russian masterpieces in the connoisseur style. Together with an extensive range of medals and military artefacts this shop will well worth a visit.
Cottage-Industries.com is a Civil War site that has the most comprehensive listing of Shenandoah Miniatures and a great range of Imrie/Risley Civil War Field Artillery and Gun Crews, and Leaders of the Civil War Miniatures. In addition they have Civil War Books, Testors paints and coming soon a line of resin model kits of the Civil War Navies from "Old Steam Navy". This is a very interesting site, well worth a visit.
Little Lead Soldiers are makers of a wide range of 54mm and 30mm toy soldiers covering such periods as: Sudan. Zulu Wars. Naval Series. Large incl.: boats) WW1. British Raj. (elephants etc.). Peter Nathan Toy Soldiers has been selling new and old Toy Soldiers since 1985, and for 10 Years has a dedicated Toy Soldier shop, the last 6 years in the centre of the Sydney CBD where over 10,000 pieces of toy soldiers are displayed. He has THE premier toy soldier shop in Australia and has built a fine reputation for supplying many makers products and a secure and reliable mail order service.
Toy Soldier Company Jenny and Jamie Delson have a very comprehensive website with almost every brand you can think of. They also produce a huge mail order catalogue with loads of images, so you can see what the figures look like before buying. This is mirrored on their website, so check it out soon.
Maitland Toy Soldier Shoppe is Canada's premier toy soldier shop, there is a huge range of figures, many that you won't see anywhere else on the net, so pay a visit.

Maison Militaire is a well know shop in Scarborough, Yorkshire that has a huge range of soldiers, military figures and castings, so check out Ken Jackson's new website.
Hobby Tools is an Australian company that stock modelling materials and caters for many hobby interests including:- scale model building, scratch building, dioramas. Well worth a look if you are creating your own battlefield, and they ship hobby tools worldwide
Military Miniatures Warehouse specialises in the sale of historical miniature kits. Their main focus is on American Civil War figures, Civil War models (naval vessels, siege guns, etc.), diorama accessories, how-to aids, as well as kits from other pre-20th century American history, including Revolutionary War figures, War of 1812 figures, etc. Civil War products come from manufacturers all over the world and are typically made of white metal (pewter, metal alloys, etc.), or resin. Most figures require some assembly, and all are unpainted. They also have expanded their assortment to include painted figures from a variety of historical periods.

Olive Drab is one of the most comprehensive military sites on the web. With both extensive original material and a large links resource they have been able to attract a steady stream of visitors. It deals with military topics of the 20th Century, hence Olive Drab was the colours of the uniforms of that century.
The Napoleonic Guide is the ultimate online reference source for people wanting to know more about the life and era of Napoleon Bonaparte. Their pages cover almost every aspect of the Napoleonic Era from Bonaparte's career, family and lovers, to his campaigns, battles and conquests. It has timelines, maps, quotes, political cartoons, caricatures, art, the entire Goya's Disasters of War series, uniform details and images, glossaries, book reviews, lyrics from military songs and a section on the naval struggle in the French Revolution and times of Napoleon Bonaparte.
The Wild West is a comprehensive site with lots of information on the history of the American West. It includes pages on Native Americans, Cowboys, and also wagon trains, railroads and much more, including a merchandise page. Be sure to check it out, if this era is of interest to you.

UNIFORMS OF AUSTRALIAN ARMED FORCES I found an album with swap cards inside in a second hand shop, and so it can be enjoyed by both this and future generations, I decided to scan the images and reproduce the text from this 1964 publication. The cards were given away at GOLDEN FLEECE Service Stations to the children of the motorists as an incentive to buy petrol there. Both these cards and this petrol company have disappeared from the Australian scene today, as have the uniforms, but have a look at what splendid colourful uniforms were used.

as yet. The links page is valuable to wargamers of all eras and is regularly

An Illustrated History of Napoleonic Military Uniform John Stallaert has embarked on a monumental task of exhibiting the Uniforms of the Napoleonic Era, he has done a great job of showing the Austrian Army, and more is to follow. Be sure to visit this site and see what he is doing for those of us interested in this this colourful era. A comprehensive links list will help you get around the web to many other valuable Napoleonic sites.
Schutztruppe This site show the uniform details used by the Imperial German troops in Africa. They have some fine pictures of uniforms scanned from old books and were very helpful as painting references, but the language is in German, so if you don't understand, just check out the images.
1789-1815 has some of the best line drawings of Napoleonic Uniforms on the web. There are 12 plates of Waterloo Amies each with 16 soldiers per plate showing French, British, Dutch, Prussian, Brunswick and Nassau Armies. There are also images of re-enactors and much more, but being in French, I can't read the text. Well worth viewing, and a valuable resource.
Chakoten - Danish Military Historical Society has a new website that's worth viewing. There are some pages in English, but all are in Danish, but the information on Uniforms and Figures is well worth the visit to see what's on offer. Keep checking the site as many new articles are coming on-line soon.
British Regimental Drums and Colours in North America is a very comprehensive website showing the Kings and Regimental Colours and the drums as used by British Forces in North America from 1755 to 1783. There is also a brief history of the regiment and detailed images of both the soldier's and the drummer's lace used on their uniforms. A very valuable resource.
Uniforms of the Campaign in Belgium 1815 is a French site that is packed with plates of the Armies of the time when Napoleon returned to France, only to be defeated at Waterloo in 1815. Its a brilliant site that is ever expanding and worthwhile to bookmark.
Frontline Figures - On-line catalogue featuring great images of their excellent models. Also has military history.
Steadfast - Now run my RP World Models, manufactures of many soldiers, complete catalogue is on line. They manufacture some of the the best Artillery pieces available so check the new website for a wide range of figures and equipment.
Langley Miniature Models - This is the company that makes most of the castings featured on my pages. Their site now has lots of information of the soldiers, and you can order online.
Prince August - New home page, lots of information on the company and Ireland, with a page on toy soldiers. Accepts email orders, full details of their catalogue is now included, together with painting instructions for the new 54mm Napoleonic Range.
Wm.Hocker A great site showing the comprehensive catalogue of the excellent Toy Soldiers finished in the distinctive style of Mr. William Britain, Jun. of London, England. These modern soldiers are of the highest quality, but are presented in turn of the century style. The site also has a great links page to all aspects of the hobby.
Classic Toy Soldiers have a new website showing their plastic toy soldiers and other products , playsets they sell.
Bill the Bandsman makes and paints Scots Bandsmen from around the world. He is from Canada, so many of their bands feature, but also included are Commonwealth Bandsmen from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Australia, South Africa and UK. He does a great job of painting his figures, so check out his site.
BARZSO Ron Barzso has got his own website now showing all of his wonderful plastic figures of American History. He has the Last of the Mohicans, British, French troops, and Battle of New Orleans as well. Also is his new figures of the American Civil War and what will be coming in the future. A good site with lots of images and an order form to buy direct.
CONTE COLLECTIBLES Here is the site of the latest "Shining Star" to emerge on the Toy Soldier Front. Their figures feature both plastics and hand painted connoisseur metal, from many eras beginning with the American Civil War, Zulu, War Lord and Beau Geste. They are some of the best figures available on the market today. Coming soon is British Airborne, Vikings, Normans, Confederate casualties and another 25 painted metal sets and plastic playsets of War Lord 2, Longest Day 1, The Patriot and shortly thereafter Pirates, Mask of Zorro, a couple of Westerns and Spartacus. Keep a lookout on this site for the new direction in toy soldiers.
William Britain Here at last is the official Britains website with the current catalogue for all to see. Colourful with lots of pages to navigate,
Armies In Plastic have now set up their own website. There is images of all of their range of excellent plastic figures from WW1 and now ACW and the Boxer Rebellion. Special prices are available if you order direct from this site. Have a look at my painting of the British and Scottish Troops.

of India Company was formed in Hong Kong in the summer of 1999 and
is dedicated to the production of 54mm connoisseur style figures from countries
"East of India". The first range "The Shogun Collection" comprises of an
extensive range of hand cast miniature figures from the Warring States
Period of Japanese history. The next range "The Mandarin Collection" covering
the wars in China in the late 19th
century will be launched
in the later half of this year. The figures are magnificently detailed
and wonderfully painted showing the magnificence of Feudal Japan, its well
worth a visit to this site just to read the historical notes, as well as
viewing the figures.
PNF has an range of high quality 100% Australian made 54mm figurines depicting the Defence forces of the Commonwealth and other Countries. They are unique in clarity, features with exclusive productivity - proper coat of arms and drum cords on our drums and material screen printed flags, not paper. Have a look at the different figures from 'down under, on their site.
Lead Warrior Eduard Kasinsev has set up this site showing his historical miniatures which range from Ancients through Medieval to Napoleonic and Russians. They are very detailed figures and well worth your visit.
DeGree Miniatures come from Malta, the island in the Mediterranean, and David Grech has figures that are unique and never been seen before on the market, Soldiers who served on the island. They range from mid 18th century until the 1970's. there is a very extensive historical background also available on this site to complement the figures.
Tradition of London is one of the major manufactures of toy soldiers in UK and a visit to London is not complete without going to Mayfair to see the shop. I visited there last year and was made most welcome by the Manager Steve hare and the staff. I was amazed by the number of soldiers exhibited in the tiny shop, and more so by the rows of Charles Stadden castings on parade in their basement / dispatch office. The website is still to fully take shape, but if you can't go to London (right now) pay the site a visit.
Shenandoah Miniatures have been featured on my website for some time. Paul Clarke in Australia makes THE BEST American Civil War figures that are available. The fine details in the sculpting and clean crisp casting make these kits a work of art. They are constructed with fully interchangeable heads and arms and if there is a figure you want, and it isn't in the catalogue, Paul will put the parts together to get what you want. be sure to check out his new site.
CBG MIGNOT In case you didn't know France's premier toy soldier manufacturer has a website that shows many of the figures and ranges that they are famous for. In fact they have about 4000 figures on their books, with more released each month, so have a look at what's on offer.
Trebuchets Store has working scale models of Trebuchets that will grace any medieval battle. What are Siege Engines? Well, centuries before the practical use of gunpowder, ancient armies employed artillery against castles and fortifications using enormous throwing machines powered by humans, twisted cord, bent wood and metal, or gravity. Ingenious and varied in their designs, these great machines, or engines, hurled large stone balls and flaming tar to breach castle walls and set fire to interior buildings.
John Eden Studios is the new new website of this unique maker and the of home of Rose Miniatures, and the wonderful figures originally sculpted by Russell Gammage will now be available from John. He will be developing new figures as well as casting Rose, so check out these figures, and the catalogue of all the figures. Also see John's ebay page for regular offerings.
Barcelona Universal Models is a Spanish company that specialises in plastic figures from many eras. They produce 1/32 and 1/72 scale figures, as well as other products such as slot cars and model aircraft.
Italeri is the website of the Italian Manufacturer of plastic kits and toy soldiers both 1/32 and 1/72 scale.
Dorset Soldiers have been producing toy style 54mm lead soldiers for collections since 1976. They offer everything from a spare part to repair a wounded 'old soldier', through castings for you to complete to your own individual taste, and of course, painted figures in a traditional style, both boxed and unboxed to suit your needs.
Art.I.G started as Gjuss, a manufacturer from Latvia and produces high quality figures from Napoleonics, Russians and Roman eras. Its a company that specialise in the production of high quality collectable toy soldiers and historic miniatures. They are available as painted figures or as kits.
King and Country has developed into one of the world's major designers and producers of all-metal, hand-painted 1:32 scale military and civilian miniatures. In addition to their metal miniatures figures, the company has also developed an amazing and expanding range of scale model buildings, fighting vehicles and tanks, ships and aircraft, all made of polyresin. Their figures range from Romans and old China trough Napoleonic, American Rev War and Civil War to Vietnam and Afghanistan.
Hornet and Wolf were new to me until I was sent some of their American Civil War figures to paint for a collector. The figures were very well detailed and were a combination of resin and metal. I have recently found their website and see the full range of figures available, ranging from Napoleonic and American Civil War in 1/32 scale and WW2 figures in 1/35.
Baueda is a manufacturer of fine tabletop wargame accessories, they have just started out so there are only a few items in the catalogue so far, but it's growing fast and will be expanded constantly! So far they are concentrating on 15mm & 20mm scales, but if you see the workmanship of these walls, tents and fortifications, and ask for 54mm, I'm sure the demand will get some of that scale made as well.
Replicants is a company which produces unpainted plastic toy figures in 1/32 scale. Their figures range from Medieval, Napoleonic, Wild West, American Civil War and also have a range of Swoppit spare parts. be sure to check out the site frequently for new additions to their unique range.
Red Scorpio is an Argentine maker of plastic figures from the Britains Moulds of Detail and Herald ranges. These are now available direct from the maker, so if you are seeking repacement figures for an old set, or wish to have them in your collection, check out this great new website. There are other figures not Britains, some which are new to me too.
Fusilier Miniatures produces traditionally hand painted 54mm toy soldiers. It is a long established company, purchased by Paul and Mark Turner. The Fusilier range is wide and varied, including WW1, WW2, US Civil War, Civilian ARP (Air Raid Precaution), Foreign Legion, Indian Army and more.
British Toy Soldier Company was founded in 2000 and has set itself the goal of producing superior quality metal toy soldiers, returning to the standards the have been lost with the wide spread use of mass production.

Metal Modeles, specialist in white metal miniature kits. Their figures catalogue for collectors is mainly dedicated to the soldiers of Napoleon’s "Grande Armée", the brave "grognards" of the Empire battlefields.
Jean BARRIERE is a producer of flats, 30 mm flat figures, and has a large range of figures from ancient, through medieval and many for the Napoleonic era. The figures are sold in sets, and some individual, in both castings and painted, so this is a site to see another type of toy soldier.

El Templario is another new Argentine maker that make a vast range of traditional style toy soldiers from various eras, and regions, including South America and Europe. GBE Toy Soldiers provide the serious collector of Traditional Toy Soldiers with a vast range of over 800 different figures covering the British army at home and of the empire during the period of the 1890's to 1914. MUNDIART Miniatures is a Spanish company dedicated in fabricating soldiers of all armies in different sizes. They include historical periods of samurai, Incas, Mayas, Aztecs, Medieval, Napoleonic, American, Italian, personality figures, Spanish armies, etc.

Helmet Soldiers has a range comprising 30 easily assembled 1:32 (54mm) plastic kits that will appeal to modellers and war gamers alike. The Napoleonic Wars feature prominently, but there are two representatives from the Crimean era. The kits are mostly cavalry models, but some infantry figures are also available. Although they have been around for a number of years HELMET has been one of the best kept secrets in the world of toy soldiers.
MATTHIAS-MANSKE, SOLID LEAD TOY SOLDIERS produces a range of 40mm figures comprising the (European) armies in the Age of Reason - in the middle of the 18th century in the tradition of Nuremberg. Common cuts of the uniforms during this period allow the representation of most of the military conflicts between 1740 and 1790 so the figures can be of the armies of Prussia, Bavaria, Austria, France, Russia, as well as the American Revolutionary War.
Alexander's Toy Soldiers creates fine 54mm hand painted figures in traditional gloss finish . They also produce vignettes and charming scenes, vehicles, civilian and military and can undertake special commissions. The Napoleonic era is the bulk of the production, but Crimean War, Policemen, Lancers, Coronation sets and some American Civil War are all represented. I have a few of these wonderful figures in my collection, and can highly recommend them to you.
Admiralty Ship Models although not in strict terms is a toy soldier maker, but I was most impressed with the craftsmanship of the ships, that I think it deserves to be included in my links. There are some wonderful models on display on this site, and its credit to the makers to be able to have such fine details shown in a wide range of sailing ships.
Golden Chersonese Miniatures was set up in Singapore as an artistic endeavour to produce a unique range of stylized metal miniatures to portray exotic, lost kingdoms and unusual cultures from this part of the world. The first two Series and sets are based on the Indonesian Islands and the Bali Series offers various sets of gamelan orchestras, dancers and performers depicting the various dance and drama performances. The 2nd set of figures are based on court costumes from the Kraton or court of Yogyakarta, in cental Java. This series will feature stately and processional themes. Sets will be developed around the Sultan’s court and a most magnificent gamelan orchestra set. For something REALLY different have a look at this ever expanding new website.
Walkerloo Toy Soldiers are paper soldiers for the 21st Century. They are expressive, historically accurate illustrations mounted on to both sides of thick durable re-cycled card. So far there are toy soldiers from 10 different regiments who fought at the battle of Waterloo, and more to come, so check out this other medium for some great figures.
Expeditionary Force Is a newly-established company registered in Singapore specialised in the design and production of 1/43 Scale Pre-Painted Model Soldiers for wargamers and collectors. The initial release is of Dark Ages figures, Saxons and Vikings, but in the future American Civil War figures will be coming.
Tommy’s War is a new maker from UK producing 54mm highly detailed figures from World War 1. Initially the figures have all come from 1914, they have been released chronologically with British in Flanders, but will then have the Indian army who were the first Empire troops in action then the Canadians and then, of course, the Australians and New Zealanders at Gallipoli and also other theatres such as Egypt, Palestine, Mesopotamia and Europe. I have painted the fist batch of figures and can highly recommend them to you.

and History is a Netherlands based foundation of people who are
interested in both Miniatures and in History. This site provides valuable
and up to date information about current toy soldier and miniature shows,
museums, makers, clubs and magazines. It also provides historical
information as well a selling some unique miniatures, in both flat 2 D and
3-D, so check this site out.
A long standing monthly magazine on toy soldiers and model
figures. Thr site has a preview of the latest issue,
back issues, figures for sale, and in issue 17 in April 1998 -
"MY ON LINE GALLEY" I have been a regular contributor to articles in
the magazine.
Plastic Warrior is a glossy magazine published six times per year, distributed in 30 different countries around the world, also providing a range of special issues and manufacturers checklists devoted to plastic toy soldiers and model figures.
John Tunstill's - World of Model Soldiers John ran a Model soldier shop 'Soldiers' in London for many years and also designed and produced a range of metal figured (Soldiers' Soldiers) between 1977 and 1986. The website contains listings of his production plus excerpts from his book "The World of Model Soldiers". He also sells toy soldiers and castings from his site
Toy Soldier Collector is published bi-monthly and features informative news and reviews sections as well as in-depth articles on makers, dealers, collectors and every other aspect of this fascinating hobby. It only covers toy soldiers, sorry but no action figures or kits, they leave that for the other specialist magazines.
