Can water be magnetised? This is a very controversial subject.
I had seen some references to this some years ago but there was a lot of expense involved so I went no further. Some of our polio members tried magnets 10 years ago with mixed results. Then there was a research study published in 1997, on magnets in dealing with post polio pain. (hunting on the Internet lately proved this very hard to find)
I did eventually track it down. The double blind pilot study run by Dr Vallbona at Baylor College of Medicine, Houton, Texas, involved 50 post polios and the placement of magnets on a pain trigger point or localised painful areas for around 45 mins. 76% of those who got real magnets reported a significantly larger improvement in pain compared to 19% who had a much lesser improvement, in those using the placebo magnets. No further studies appear to have been done.
Recently, a number of our members in WA have tried magnets with varied results, from placing little magnets on problem areas to sleeping on magnetic mattresses and pillows.
So what about magnetic water? I have
searched the Internet with dubious results.

11. stimulates brain function
12. controls bacteria, decreases
white cells
13. promotes plant growth
14. improves health & weight
of animals

Natural springs provide naturally magnetised water from flowing over rocks, particularly lodestone. People went to Lourdes etc for their healing waters. Iron & cobalt (in B12) are attracted by magnets. Gold, sliver, mercury & zinc move away.
Magnetic water is said to have an effect on the ability of the hydrogen atom's ability to undergo metabolic change in the body. An atom is said to be the smallest magnet. For example a hydrogen atom has 1 roton that spins around its axis like the moon does the earth. The magnetic force of the earth is what we call gravity. Without this force our bodies become unwell as can happen with astronauts in space. We are exposed to many more harmful electro-magnetic forces these days, powerlines, TV's, computers and other electrical equipment around us, than our ancestors were.
It is believed that sources of magnetic fields in the human body are sodium, potassium and chloride ions produced during muscle contraction or nerves impulses. Sodium, calcuim, potassium and magnesium have a positive charge. Chloride and phosphate have a negative charge. Every organ has its own specific magnetic frequency and disease is a change in this natural vibration. Magnets may have a profound effect on essential enzyme systems that influence ATP (energy) production at the cell level.
So Dr Niblett has given permission to run a pilot study through the Polio Clinic to see if we find any benefit from drinking 4 glasses of water that has sat on a special magnetic coaster for at least 24 hours. This will run for 3 months per person and involves blood tests for cholesterol, blood glucose.
We have 6 people at present on the Pilot Study and want another 100 for a double blind trial after Christmas. This will be supervised by one of our members who is a geology research scientist. If you are interested let me know soon. Magnetic coasters for trial are provided by Magic Force in Osborne Park. We have had some interesting positive results so far.
Magnetic treatment is not addictive. No
harm arises even if magnetic therapy is given up abruptly. So why
not be part of our trial. If you wish to purchase your magnetic coaster
you can for $50. It won't wear out. If nothing else, you can
have a constant source of sweet water forever!
